1/1/10 - Durin's Bane - Imperial Stout w/ Anise seed
A - Beautifully dark as night, massive tan head.
S - Strong malts, heavy anise aroma, pungent and sublime
T - Strong dark roasted malts, some coffee, some chocolate, followed by a wallop of black liquorice goodness. strong bitters from the anise, a bit overkill.
M - Mod carbonation and very full body o this dark beast. 7.5% Alcohol easily masked
D - One and done kinda beer, too heavy for any sessions. a mix of shadow and flame.
